Our Story

Element Tree Essentials, nestled in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, is a small local business that specializes in handcrafted, soy lotion candles that double as a fragrant moisturizer! Over the years, Kasey Jackson (Founder and Owner) and her team have worked diligently to get the recipe just right. Today, Element Tree Essentials is an innovative leader in the candle industry, offering a diverse line of aromatic candles that will bring not only a new level of ambiance to your space, and also a delightful nourishing treat for your skin!

Want to know what’s in our candles? It's simple. Element Tree Essentials lotion candles are made with cosmetic-grade soy, grape seed oil, coconut oil, shea butter, rose hip oil, vitamin E and fragrances that are infused with essential oils. Each candle lasts between 60 and 80 hours.

Kasey Jackson, Founder

A Hendersonville, North Carolina native, Kasey has spent most of her life in the area. Like many of us who are drawn to these mountains, Kasey has always been inspired by the local art and original crafts Asheville has to offer. Her natural love for candles and aroma inspired her to make her own at home. In 2011, she launched her business right from her own kitchen. People loved her candles so much that she opened her first booth in the Grove Arcade shortly thereafter.

Being out in the community with her product made her realize the candles’ potential for wellness. Today she has numerous returning customers who have shared that the heated lotion eases skin problems such as eczema and extremely dry, cracked skin. “It feels good that my product helps people. It brings me closer to the community that I have been so inspired by.”

Over the years, Kasey's company has grown significantly and she is proud to be selling Element Tree Essentials products in the finest retail establishments across the country. Kasey still enjoys working at the main Asheville location, and visiting her other studios in Chattanooga, Savannah and Black Mountain. She loves traveling to festivals and shows, meeting new people and friends, and educating the community about the healing elements of her candles.

When it comes to her own success, Kasey likes to refer to poet Maya Angelou, “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”
